The Skylight Story
Skylight Coffee started as a spark that grew with every barista shift behind the counter, every conversation with a regular, and every perfectly crafted cup of coffee. Before the world changed in 2020, I fell in love with crafting coffee, not just for the drink itself but for the connections it created. Unlike other jobs I’d had, there was something different about the way people gathered around coffee. It was a moment of pause, a shared experience, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that in a bigger way.
Over time, I started exploring different coffee cultures and realized how much care, technique, and philosophy go into a truly great cup. I became obsessed with the idea that coffee should never be bitter. I believe that when coffee is made with intention, with attention to detail, and with real care, it brings out something beautiful. That belief only grew stronger as I worked my way through college, and by my senior year, I knew I had to chase this passion. What started as a coffee business plan for a class project became the foundation for Skylight Coffee.
