The Skylight Story

Skylight Coffee Co. started as a feeling—a spark that grew with every shift behind the counter, every conversation with a regular, and every perfectly crafted cup of coffee. Before the world changed in 2020, I fell in love with the rhythm of making coffee, not just for the drink itself but for the connections it created. Unlike other jobs I’d had, there was something different about the way people gathered around coffee. It was a moment of pause, a shared experience, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that in a bigger way.

Over time, I started exploring different coffee cultures and realized how much care, technique, and philosophy go into a truly great cup. I became obsessed with the idea that coffee should never be bitter—not because of the beans, but because of the process. I believe that when coffee is made with intention, with attention to detail, and with real care, it brings out something beautiful. That belief only grew stronger as I worked my way through college, and by my senior year, I knew I had to chase this passion. What started as a coffee cart business plan for a class project became the foundation for Skylight Coffee Co.

The name Skylight is inspired by biophilic design—the idea that nature, light, and organic elements create a space that feels warm and inviting. That’s exactly the feeling I want people to have when they step up to the stand. I want curiosity to draw them in, and the experience to keep them coming back.

Starting this business hasn’t been easy. It’s taken countless hours of planning, learning, and facing the realities of what it takes to turn a dream into something real. But here I am, ready to serve high-quality coffee, sourced with care, brewed with intention, and shared with community.

So whether you’re a coffee lover, an explorer of new flavors, or just someone looking for a place to slow down and enjoy the moment, you’re always welcome at Skylight Coffee Co.
